Dog dental problem (canine teeth) question?

I took my dog to the vet because there is a small spot where his lower canine teeth are hitting his uper gums, and it is dark in color. My dog is a 1year old wheaten terrier.
I took my dog to the vet because there is a small spot where his lower canine teeth are hitting his uper gums, and it is dark in color. My dog is a 1year old wheaten terrier.
The vet advised me his bottom canines are too big and suggested braces or to remove his lower canines. She said i dont have to… but it could cause gum problems in the future.
Anyone else had this problem?
If so, how much did it cost to remove his teeth or get braces? or if you didn’t do anything… has it caused any problems?
Thanks,
I was googling and i think i found the medical term. Its “Lingually displaced mandibular” But its not hitting the roof of the mouth, more towards the actual gum line

The surgery and office visits.
First of all, I would talk to the breeder before consenting to any procedure like this. This just sounds odd.
Whatever it is, it’s possible that it’s a common issue in your breed and in that case a good breeder will often have a better idea of what to do than a regular vet who’s not as experienced with that breed will.
