Solving Dog Issues

How much does each dog weigh? Math Problem?

dog problem
Childlike Tendency asked:

I need the following math problem answered ASAP. So if you can do it or know how to do it, that would be great!

Meg has three dogs- Skippy, Gizmo, and Chopper. The sum of the dogs’ weights is 166 pounds. If you add three times Skippy’s weight to Gizmo’s weight, the sum is 2 pounds more that Choppers weight. If you subtract three-forths of Skippys weight from four times Gizmos weight, the result is equal to twice Chopper’s weight. How much does each dog weigh?

    The mass of information is 3s the third piece of each dog be represented by their corresponding first piece of each dog be represented by their corresponding first piece of information tells us 166.

  2. hustolemyname Says:

    s+g+c= 166
    g+3s = c+2
    4g-3/4 s =2c

    so
    s+g+c = 166
    3s+g-c = 2
    3s-16g+8c = 0
    so
    2g+4c= 496
    17g-9c = 2
    so
    34g + 68c = 8432
    34g - 18c = 4
    so
    86c = 8428
    c = 98
    g = 52
    s = 28
