I have a chesepeake bay retriever. He is young, just 9 months old. However, we have been working with him since I brought him home (12 weeks). He sits, heals, and fetches great. The problem is he won’t get into the truck. When we take him places, he piddles everywhere, shakes and whines the whole time. He hates the kennel (he was born in one) and he hates the water (both his parents hunt and swim). We have tried everything the books say to help him get over these things, but I am fearfull that I have a hunting dog that won’t swim or get in the truck to even go. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get him over these obsticals? We put his food bowl in the kennel and he will go into it to eat, but he won’t go all the way in. (he leaves his back legs out).

The truck or kennel that has lot to do with how is your tone of voice when she saw us get our shoes or hears the truck or hears the word shoes make things routine if possible and he gets in though.
