I’m having a problem with my landlord’s little dog pooping and peeing in the house! What can I do, anything?

I live in the bottom of a three level townhome which is closed off from the rest of the place. I do have to share the kitchen, which is the dog’s favorite spot to pee. Also, I have to go upstairs to do my laundry where I almost stepped in poop.
